The room we booked with our family was smoked filled, we had to be switched. The other room was a better smelling one for sure. The pool was nice, however there was a bunch of sand in the hot tub. After the pool we had our kids shower then that's when I noticed a couple towels were more yellow than the others. I didn't complain about this I just set them aside. We slept well. Food was descent. My big issue was when we left. I won't go into a huge story here, but let's just say the management is a joke. Don't expect to get honest answers. I have stayed here a couple other times before but after this eye opening experience we will never be back.
The first room they gave us was filthy. The rug next to the bed was gray with dust. I plugged in a lamp and the dust had coated the wall and rug behind nightstand. Bath was dirty and the main part of the rug was covered in crumbs. They moved us to the next room and there was dirt clinging to the ceiling. The smoke detector was coated also and looked to be non functioning. We asked for a refund so we could leave but the clerk didn't know how to do a refund. We left anyway and disputed the charge due to unsanitary conditions. If you are thinking of staying here, my advice is think again. Drive the 16 miles into Brainerd and get a clean room. Horrible experience in Deerwood!!
Rooms were nice, had a microwave and fridge. Had a nice pool although the hot tub smelled like pee. Not very much shampoo and no conditioner in the room. But overall it was fine
Our visit was one night. Check in was smooth. Motel people friendly. Breakfast was ok. Good variety of foods. Rooms good. Bathroom grout on floors and in corners need a good cleaning. But over all stay was good and would recommend the motel. Will stay again.
Will explain later when I have time. But this place is going downhill fast. Added photos showing they did not even replace towels, empty garbages, or make the bed. Basic things you would expect.
